Malaysia Car Tyre Price List 2018
Michelin
Michelin Malaysia offers XM2 as the budget variant for smaller tyre size customers. XM2 is excellent in terms of economical with a balance of performance and durability. You can feel the low air resistance of the tyres once they are fitted on to your car. Furthermore, the XM2 is being priced reasonably between RM160 to RM250 for tyres of size between 12" to 16".
For tyres of 16" and above, Michelin Malaysia offers the Michelin Primacy 3 ST as the premium comfort option, the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 as the premium sport variant. These 3 tyre options are all comfortable and have strong grip. However, the biggest distinction would be Primacy 3 ST offers more cushion and the side walls are softer to better absorb small bumps on the road. This is one of the best premium comfort option available in Malaysia due to the increasing number of potholes on our roads.
As for Michelin Pilot Sport, the Pilot Sport 4 is meant to replace the Pilot Sport 3, but both are still offered in Malaysia with the Michelin PS3 being marginally cheaper for enthusiast to enjoy the sporty drive of the Pilot Sport technology at slightly lower cost. Performance wise, the Michelin PS4 is a tad better, but if you are not a fast and furious driver, most probably you would not be able to differentiate the difference in performance between the Michelin PS3 and Michelin PS4.
Continental
Unlike Michelin Malaysia, the tyre models offered by Continental Malaysia is very distinct from one to another. The Continental ComfortContact 5 is being offered as the budget yet extremely comfortable and quiet variant to suit the budget of the masses, while Continental PremiumContact 2 is mainly offered to luxury brand vehicles, mainly the German brands: BMW, Mercedes, and Audi.
Continental MaxContact 5 is being offered as the sporty variant for large tyre size vehicles between 16" and 18". The Conti MC5 is meant to compete with the Michelin PS3 and PS4 in terms of grip, feedback and maneuverability in the premium sport market in Malaysia.
